And, this should serve to dispell that rumor. |

HMMM...TSGA SAYS "The big news for next year is that Buddy Emmons, Sary Jory, and Paul Franklin have given the TSGA commitments to appear on the 2007 Jamboree." SARA JORY'S WEBSITE BEGS TO DIFFER.
CAPS => shouting, BTW |

The "rumors" are in fact, true. Sarah will not be performing. We had a commitment with her to perform in 2007 as early as ISGC 2006, as we did for her performance for the 2006 Jamboree. But, something more important for her to do came up last year and she cancelled on us for 2006. This year, her commitment to her new employer, Van Morrison, will once again supercede her desire to play our show. So she cancelled again.
And once more the TSGA will have to eat the complaints about something we're powerless to control. Thanks for the shouting, guys, acknowledged.
According to TSGA President Albert Talley, communication and emails were problematic. BTW, Sarah's representative finally notified the TSGA officially of her cancellation last week.
I found out about it this morning, as I was on the road and away from computer last week.
I've made a formal announcement on another thread. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Well, as much as I would really like to see her perform in person, I bet the guys who will be there will put on one heck of a show just like they have in the past. Hats off to Albert and the TSGA crew who do a great job. They can't satisfy all of us all the time. I would venture to say, if you are there, you hear somebody play that will make it work your time. See yall in Dallas.

Every show's announcement has a "subject to change" line in it.
Stuff happens.
I can't fault an artist for doing what they need to do.
The TSGA show is always great.
Thanks Herb, Albert, (not Herb Albert) and the rest of the TSGA folks for all you do.
I'm counting the days. |

Well, I am thinking about attending and it will be a 1300 mile drive for me! Looking over the list of talent that will be there really floors me. Not only the steel players, but complete bands with great vocals. I have only been to St. Louis before so if I can make it, it will be nice to see the Dallas format.

This is going to be my first time to attend the Jamboree. I am looking forward to seeing all the great steel players that are going to be there. Hope to meet some of ya'll there! Albert, Debbie and the rest of the crew with the TSGA has done a great job at the entertainment line-up...I am more excited about this line-up than the line-up at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (George Strait excluded)!!! I hope I will get the chance to meet some of these guys and get some pictures with them! See ya'll There! _________________ '74 Emmons D10 P/P 8x5,'15 Rittenberry D10 8x5, Peavey Nashville 112, 400 & 1000, Fender Twin Reverb Tone Master, Hilton, Goodrich L120, Boss DD-3 and RV-3 |

While it is true that Sarah Jory cancelled her appearance at TSGA Jamboree 2006 it is not exactly true to say "something more important for her to do came up"........unless you count preserving her personal wellbeing.
Approximately one week before the event Sarah suffered an injury while carrying equipment from a gig. The injury was sufficiently serious for her consultant to forbid her to travel, especially on a ten hour aeroplane flight. and hence she was forced to cancel her performance at an event that she was especially looking forward to be at.

I admit to not knowing Sarah's cancellation of 2006 was due to a medical condition. Sounds like an excused absence to me. And if her main money gig is a conflict, I can't complain about that either. She needs to further her career and playing with Morrison would undoubtedly fall into that category. I do wish we'd gotten the final notification about this year's show a little earlier, since it would have made things easier for the TSGA financially and planning-wise. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Has Van Morrison always used steel in his material, or is this a new development? |

What is the big deal? How can this news even register, with the list of giants performing this year? I'd fly 5000 miles for Buddy, JayDee, and Mr. Hughey alone.......and I am. They may not be as good-looking or play in high heels, but they sure got TONE.
Joey, what flight are you taking out of Toronto? I'm on Air Canada, T.O-Dallas direct, 9:20am Thursday. I'm Leaving St. John's 5:20am.......barely home from a gig, probably. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

Well.....I would have loved to see her live,....but I figure it this way.....
For the past 5 years I've been attending the Dallas show.....not knowing exactly who will be there......I figure whoever shows up.....shows up.....
I have never been disappointed........but, just as important as the players, I go to meet friends that I only see once a year at this show......and it doesn't get any better than that..... |
