This was my first visit with the Siloam Springs Steel Guitar Club. These guys are really a fun laid back group of pickers. I am very lucky to live within one hour of three different Steel Organizations, and now that I am retired my wife insisted that I join all three. I really enjoyed todays meeting. My wife took some pictures. I don't remember everyone's name but I have included some pictures so you can see these amazing picker's.

Pic 1 ... This actually was an interesting event on the way to Siloam Springs (Something you don't see every day).

The President (Larry Garrett) sits next to the band as a motivating factor (making sure they aren't sluffing-off)

"This Bud's for You" (Shobud that is)

Sounds like Virgil had a little WD-40 on those strings with some of those fast licks.

Here's "Heartlands" driving force and his steeless steel pickin buddy.

The bass don't come any more solid than Norma Jean's delivery.

Here's is me showing Virgil a very cool lick I learned from Hank Ruf who learned it at the KSGA from Ray Qualls, who learned it from Lee Ogle, who learned it from Mike McGee, who painstakingly thought it up while daydreaming on his day job.

And finally, here is Mike and Gerald. I was amazed at Gerald's focus when he plays and Mike is just a plain Super Picker.

Hey Rick, we really enjoyed you and Debbie both. We are very honored to have you in our club. Maybe this summer Debbie will have some botique shops to go to. I think the new mall is suppose to have some. I know she will enjoy our dogwood festival. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Ray, This is all we took at the Siloam Springs meeting. I'm going to post pictures of the KSGA members after our next meeting. But in the meantime here is two pictures of the only guys who made it through the snow and ice 2 months ago in Kansas...

Ray Qualls (KSGA President) and Hank Ruf (Ozark SGA President)
Hank is explaining to us that you must first achieve the Vakrasana Yoga Position to properly implement this chord on the C6th neck.

Me and Lee Ogle wondering when breaktime is so we can dig into that Pineapple Cheesecake.

Hey Rick,
We're glad you and Debbie came to Siloam yesterday and we're glad to have you as a member. I need you to teach me a couple of those hot licks. We had a fun time for sure.

Virgil, let me know if you're going to have a poultry swap next month. My neighbor has a bunch of chickens and I've been wondering what to do with that rooster of his. Maybe I could write a song called "Steelin' Chickens". Rolling Eyes

Hey Virgil and Ray,
One of you bring some Church's, the other bring some Popeye's, and I'll bring some KFC and we can have that "poultry swap" at our next meeting.

Larry, that sounds like a deal to me. But lets save the chicken lips for Fred and we can put them in a dirty sock so they'll stay fresh until April! Rick, see what you're getting yourself into? These four(4) clubs have got a bunch of crazies in them. Myself excluded of course! Evil Twisted

Been doin a little thinkin about the location of these "four clubs" here----Hmmmm ----I might talk to the train company and see if they would run a comuter for everyone to ride to these functions on. We could name it The "A" train and several who live a ways out could take it----- especially people as far away as say---Arizona ---- Rolling Eyes
