As a service to my fellow forumites who use band-in-a-box, I have added a page to my website. The new page contains biab song files which I have written to be used as tracks for instrumentals. You must have the "Band-In-A-Box" program to play these files.
Feel free to save them and edit for your personal use. I will be adding files from time to time, so check back often.
Go to my website and click on the "Band in a box song files" page.

I re-did "C Jam (swing)" to make it "swingier". More and different chords. Yesterday I also made some minor changes to "window faces the south(2)" and "steel guitar rag". If you already downloaded these, check the new files.

Mr. Fields
Band-in-a-box is a computer program..It allows you to create tracks, using the styles in b-i-a-b.There are about 40 or so different music categories..rock,gospel,bluegrass,country,pop, and many many others..Each catagory contains 25 or 30 different styles, within that group.Keys, tempo, instruments, rhythm patterns, and other changes can be made..Once you learn to use the program, you can switch out passages ,to other passages you like better..
You can write tabs, or chord charts, play them back and play along, or sing..If you don't like the chart, zap them out and write in something else ..
It is a great program..I only wish I could use it more effectively..Kinda expensive, but has lots of variables..I would guess it sells for $300 to $400 bucks..May be cheaper ?????

RP...'come on in'...

John, thank you so much for Emailing me the helpful tips on getting started with BIAB. I just ordered mine today from Musicians Friend. It is the BIAB Pro 2006 and costs $89.00. I hope this is the right one to run your files with.

Rob, thanks for the excellent description of biab. As Rick pointed out, it is available from Musicians Friend. It is also available from the company who owns it ... www.pgmusic.com . Updates are available there for download, also.
I suggest you look at the tutorials on the pgmusic site. There is some well explained help by George Wixon at www.gwixon.com .
Rob, I think, we all, have only scratched the surface of what biab is capable of. I know enough about it to be dangerous .... Laughing I wish I had time to learn more.
I now have some gospel tracks on the site. Check it out.
Thanks to all, for the interest. It is my pleasure to furnish these tracks. I consider myself a beginner w/biab, but I hope they serve someone in some way.
God Bless all ........... JD
