Just got my new carter S-10 delivered from Texas to Northwest Pennsylvania. It traveled during the week of the coldest temperatures around here since 1996 hovering about -8 F. It was UPS delivered and put on my rural porch where it sat all day in its box. Yeah, my UPS guy always drops things off around here in the woods without signing.
When I got home, I let the box warm up for an hour before I set up this beauty and to my amazement, the open strings and the pedals and lever changes were all in tune using a Peterson!! Wow! Sounds great with its 10-1 SS pickups and I am a happy but a cold camper!!Kudos to Carter, once again!

Hi Greg,

Yes I live near Franklin and have been to Corry a few times! After going to your website and downloading and practicing your tabs I think you are the Undisputed Steel King of NW PA! I'm a guitarist learning steel and have finally graduated from a student model to a pro model after a decade or two.
You produce great stuff and are a great player, teaching me much from your tabs and clips. Thanks for all your instruction. Have to look you up next time I'm up in Corry. Maybe in Spring when the lake effect stops!!(er, its Corry, maybe summer). Do you ever play out ?
Thanks Greg!

I had the same scenerio,I had a Carter shipped from Texas to Michigan last week.It arrived Friday and it spent the weekend in a steel un-heated storage unit until Monday morning at the coldest temperatures we've had in ten years. I unpacked the guitar and it immediately turned white with frost. I let it warm up gradually and after a couple hours I was able to wipe it dry and polish it up. I plugged it in and the 3rd string (G#) was a little flat but everything else in tune. This is an amazing testament to the Carter builders and their product.I hope my Emmons arrived in Texas the same way.

There's a ton of really great pickers around here but few that play out anymore. If you want, send me pics of your guitar and I'll get them posted here. Last time I was in your area we went to Fisher and Father hardware I think on Rte 417 for a Toro snow blower.
