I'm trying to expand from Dobro to lap steel, and I'm looking for a double neck six string. A forum member pointed out one in a Canadian store. It's a double six with three legs. A single trapezoid shaped pickup on each neck. Fretboard markers are large and small rectangles. Rectangular metal badge between necks reading Fender Fullerton.
It's been re-finished to a dark gray. The new finish seems basically in good shape with a few scuffs and scratches. Someone is said to have remounted the legs to a more spread or splayed configuration. The finish on the undersurface has cracking around the leg mounts but none of the finish is missing. There is no case (does have a gig bag.
They are asking $750 Canadian + shipping.
The exchange is around $1.16
I have no experience to say that it is or isn't a decent price. With no case, a refinish, and the legs altered, I thought it was too high. On the other hand it may be a chance for a new guy to get a decent Fender without breaking the bank.
I'd appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

Hi Don,

Personally, I'm with your gut feel, I think it's too high!! You really don't know what your getting. It's already been modified. That's alot of $$$ for a modified. Hang in there. In this case, it's better to pay more than be very disappointed. Were you able to negotiate to say, $200/300 the risk/benefit is more likely to be tolerable. Hope this helps....TX
Rgds,
Ron
