Hi

Does anyone have any opinions/info on Bennett laps? I can't find a site for (Ron) Bennett's guitars.

I quite like the idea of getting a UK made 6-string - if the steels're good, that is (I'm sure they are ...)
Is the string spacing good for behind-the-bar pulls, for example? Is the pickup good? What's the scale?

Any advice'd be very welcome, thanks.
Iain

Ron Bennett has been playing and making all kinds of steel guitars for over forty years. Now producing 6-string and 8-string lap steel models in his workshop on the Wirral, Merseyside.

Take note though - these are hand-made instruments and are only made to order

Solid Ash body, colour-coded position markers, specially machined nut and bridge and an awesome vintage-style handwound pickup combine to make this not only a great-sounding workhorse instrument but a collector’s piece as well.

Each guitar comes with hand-stamped serial number, full warranty and hand-built case.
Six-string and eight-string models
High output, hand-wound pickups
Colour-coded fret position markers
Price includes case
UK-made, complete with full 2-year warranty

Maurice Hipkiss plays one, If it's good enough for him !!

Ron Bennett, 0151-608-4562,

Call him ...
BTW He also make 'Mighty fine' pedal steels.. Most economical, keyed or keyless, 10 or 12 string.
