I just realized I'm out of .011s and I have a gig tonight. What will happen if I use a .012 if I break one tonight? Thanks.

Take enough band-aids with you.Or you could go to a music store and get you some 0.11 D'Addario strings.A buck a piece and they hold ok.I always carry a couple spare one's in my case.

I have used .011's, .0115's & .012's, no real problem with any of them. I think you might have to tweak up your B pedal a little going from a .011 to a .012, other than that, it will last a lot longer than the .011 If you use Jagwire or George L's, there should be no problem. Oh, Jeff Newman turned me on too the .012's years ago. Its hard to believe we all used to use those little bitty .010's!!

Ron, I don't think I'll have time to get to a store after work and b/f the gig. That's why I was wondering if it would screw the tuning up really bad to use the .012. I've got only 1 gig on this set plus a few hours practice time. I don't usually break any as I keep them changed about every 3 gigs, but sure as shootin' it'll probably happen tonight. Confused Thanks guys.

The .012 on your guitar.... I'm assuming the Rains D-10... will be fine. You will have to make a minor tuning adjustment on any pulls that you have on that string.... probably just the B pedal.
I, use a .012 3rd string on all of my guitars...

All went well, no string breaks last night! The ole Rains hung in there. Thanks for the help. I keep it in mind for the next time. Very Happy
