I just had to brag about my 55' Stringmaster T-8 again. I bought it about a year ago and just finished installin a pickup that Jason Lollar rewound for me. The outside neck had a bad pickup in it when I bought it but now it's complete and sounds just awesome. Jason was great to work with and returned my new pickup lots sooner than in the time we talked about. I actually sent him both pickups but he only rewound one cause the other was in good shape, he could've very easily told me both were bad and charged me double than what he did. Jason, I appreciate your honesty and the quality work that you do.

Andy,
Is that a 26" scale guitar?
If so, it is a twin to mine.

Erv and Rick, post some pics of your T-8's. I'd like to see them. Mine is indeed a 26" scale with tone that sustains clear into the middle of next week. Before I bought it I was concerned about those "Lolli pop" tuners bein kinda hard to fix if they go bad, but once I got it home and went all through it I discovered they were actually in great shape and I really like that old look they have. I've got it tuned [closest to outer neck] A6, B11 and C6. The C6 is where the new pickup went and I couldn't be happier. I've also got a Fender Deluxe 8 that sounds good too but nowhere close to the sound of the T-8.

I paid more than I wanted to at the time but since then these guitars have just gone way up past what I paid for it just a year ago.

Looking mighty fine Andy!
Lollipops are pretty durable tuners . .

Andy, go to www.bsgsteelguitars.com and click on "Legs and Leg Sockets". The bottom picture is the picture I sent to Don Burrows of my 26" triple Stringmaster. I also took the pictures of the leg sockets.

Don made for me five leg sockets with the same degree spread that came with the double neck Stringmasters. I have an extra socket in the center at the tuning end, so I can use three legs if I like.

Andy,
Thanks so much for posting those pictures of my Stringmasters. I have one other that I'm working on. I bought some Stringmaster parts from a fellow and he said: "Oh, by the way, I have the body if you would like that too". It was 1/2 of a D-8. I rounded up enough parts, redid the body and turned it into a single neck, 26" scale Stringmaster. I still have a little work left to do on it but will send you a picture of this one too.
BTW: the date on the guitar was '54.
Thanks again,
Erv

Erv sent me one more pic and wrote, "This is the guitar I was talking about. It is further along than what the picture is showing but it is basically 1/2 of a D-8 Stringmaster. I added the 3rd leg in the middle and it is the 26" scale so the sustain should be GREAT! Thanks",
Erv

Man, this is Stringmaster heaven!

This is the 3rd neck of a 24 12" scale Quad (3rd neck thickness but no leg sockets, no volume or tone control)

Rick,
What you need to do is get a couple of Forstner bits and route out some circles on that guitar and put legs on it. That's what I did to put the 3rd leg on that single neck.

Erv,

As I look enviously at the pics of your steels, I'm remined of that line from Don Adams on Get Smart: "You really know how to hurt a guy, don't ya?" But I guess that's what I deserve for the sin of envy.
