Mike, you continue to amaze me. It don't seem possible that you could have gone from a fantastic harmonica player hardly knowing what a steel guitar was when we were picking at Papa John's to such a fantastic pedal steel player. And this was 20 years ago. I gotta know how you did it. I couldn't even carry your volume pedal now.

Paul... yes, it is. The steel I was playing is my old blue Franklin that I still use some now.
Gere... what can I say? You're way too kind. You're one of my earliest heroes that I could actually sit down and talk to and learn from. You and ol' John Reese always played so well and tastefully; I owe both of you.
Tommy, you are most welcome. I'm glad it's doing its job instead of just sitting here. _________________ Mikey D... H.S.P.

Michael - great picking buddy, oh and love the hat. What is it about great steel players that wear hats, guess I'm gonna have to pull mine out see it that makes me play better. LOL |

Oh, jeez... ok, lemme see how the ol' brain works today...
Bass - Ric Murrell
Drums - Kenny Janson
Rhythm - why, that's ol' Charlie Carter! Everybody knows Chas!
Piano - the "lovely and talented" Steve Samuels (deceased)
Fiddle - Wade Benson ("Waderow Benny")
Lead - David Sloas ("Dave Wad")
Chick Singers - Paula Poe Murrell to the left, Sue Richards to the right of her, and that woman we worked for, center stage... sometimes...
YES! I did it! Whew... I even remembered some of the nicknames... in the band, you were either a "Bob," a "Wad," or a "Hole", and Susie had t-shirts made to make it permanent... "Dave Wad," "Mike Bob"... the girls all got stuck with "Hole"... we was a classy bunch, eh? _________________ Mikey D... H.S.P.

Nice job, and you're right up front in the mix. I like how the drummer throws in some disco hi-hats. _________________ -johnson |

That was great to see Kenny again. He is a Minnesota boy who used to live with Mike Baker before marriage. Haven't seen him since he got married. Is he still there in Tn.or at home taken care of the farm? |

Kenny and Diana Murrell (his wife) run the Nashville Nightlife Theater on Music Valley Drive in Nashville.
We did a Christmas show with them here in Minnesota on the Dec. 26th. We've played it each year for about 6-7 years. Always a blast, too! Kenny played drums on our latest tune.
Mikey, did Diana sing with Tammy, too? I'm assuming she did with all the Murrell's on the folks you listed above... _________________ My best,
