The Super~Bro Guitar

This is a very special and wonderful sounding guitar. I have married a double neck pedal steel guitar with a Dobro. The guitar I started with is a late seventies Sho Bud Super Pro. It is a fully reconditioned E9th pedal steel with wooden necks. I have refinished the body and rebuilt the under-carriage. To the E9th front neck, I have added updated features such as; John Coop super finger changers, angled left knee levers and a flocked underside. This also includes 5 pedals and 5 knee levers. This is a very comfortable guitar to play. (For more features, see the list below). Both necks are summed through the one output jack as in a typical double neck guitar.

The rear neck is a Marrs cat-can 6-string resonator guitar. No pulls, just a straight Dobro tuning. Fluger Guitars of Buffalo New York, designed the circuit board and the routing for the electronics. It sounds like and is played like a Dobro. You can play this at any volume. Absolutely no feedback! In addition there is a toggle switch on this neck that reshapes the tone to get a lap steel sound. I have this neck presently tuned to a standard G, Dobro tuning. But any tuning is compatible. You can also purchase a few parts from Fluger or Marrs guitars and expand this neck to 8 strings.
Includes a HD custom case with resessed hardware.

I watched Marvin Fluger retrofit this guitar here in Buffalo and got a chance to play it. It is an exceptional sounding guitar with classic Sho-Bud tone. The rear neck sounds eactly like a dobro with NO feedback.

Reminds me of Jeff Surrats Marrs Custom except his had two pedals hooked up to the Cat Can dobro simulator. Really Neat concept. Look great. Kudos to you guy's on a job well done.

I got up this morning, slid a CD in the player from a live show Dec. 1. Man, this guitar sounded fantastic. The classic Sho~Bud tone and the Marrs-Fluger resonator where so sweet. I have to tell ya I'm thinking maybe I might change my mind and keep it. Someone better make me an offer .....soon.

I have been playing my newer one in the last two weeks. A Carter~Bro. It's a lighter weight guitar and has a few more pedal changes. Very accurate. I'll post pic's soon! And I just aquiered another one for conversion.

Wow! I've only been in the pedal steel scene (I wouldn't even call it that!) for about a year now and I've never even thought about having a setup like that! That would be WAY COOL!

I've had a few inquires about this beauty. But could not part with it. (Tho my price was met). And in the mean time have got a 2nd one up and performance working great. It's a Carter SD-10 w/ the Dobro on the rear same as the Sho~Bud. I'm calling all of them Super Bros.
I'm going to keep both of these, so I'm taking this Sho~Bud off the block. It's really convient to keep one in the case for gigs and one set up in my studio for playing and teaching. Plus this is the 1st one I made and it represents a considerable amount of thought, time and energy. Sentimental value to boot. I have owned this guitar for 19 years, and that's a lot of music she n' I have put out there.
