Video of some Tricone playing

Post by Mike Neer »

A friend sent me a little video she made of me playing my Tricone at a Moonlighters show from Summer '05 at the Rodeo Bar in NYC. There are lot of cool close-up shots of both hands. I dunno, thought it would be fun to share it.

Click here for video. Hope you enjoy

Nice pickin. Mike! That is the way a steel guitar should be featured. Do they still have the 24 ounce steak at the Rodeo Bar?
[This message was edited by Billy Wilson on 16 March 2006 at 11:40 PM.]

So that's how that thing works... now I get it... you run that metal thingey up and down the strings.

How do you know where to put your hands?

No, really, very cool Mike! Image

Sweeeeeeeet, Mike!

Are you tuned in C#m7? In any case, really great stuff. Sounds like you've been really studying a lot of the old school masters.

Great stuff! There's nothing quite like those speedy single-string work. I'm looking forward to the new album!

That's a great clip, Mike. I only wish it was larger, so I could steal from you better. Image

I like the transition to full chord from the single note runs. You swing, man! C# minor tuning, right?

Some C#min, some E. I only bring one guitar, so I've had to be inventive with a few other tunings, such as a workaround for F#9.

I also should mention that my friend, Sandi Bachom, shot these. She has some other cool little "Schlockumentaries" on her website. She'll be doing some more of me in the future.

Man, you guys sure swing that old DICK McINTIRE tune "I'm Pau" ! Wow !!!
Is it my computer or the fact the pic is so dark, it is difficult to see what is going on. The sound is awesome .... great group !

Mike,

I don't know if it's "lucky guy to be in such a band" or "lucky band to have such a player"! I think it's both. Fabulous.

Hi: I'm a new player and watching this I can only say W O W ! That guitar seems to be just an extension of YOU. Incredible. How do you have such control of your pickin' fingers? I'm a pilot and when I take hold of my controls that plane becomes an extension of me....that's what I see in you and your playing.. Lovely...oh, that someday I could play like that.
