What should I do with my 0 pedal????

I've never had the 0 pedal until now,
and I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I know about the Franklin change, but I'm not sure why I need that.
Also I've seen the recent post about G# to G, which I'm considering........so the real question here is, are there any other options people are using?

The '0' pedal as you described (G# to G) gives you a IV-7th chord right on position when used with the 1st pedal (B to C#). It can also be used in lieu of the 2nd and 3rd pedals to get your II-minor chord 2 frets up from your I position. For an Emmons setup , the pedals should read left to right - -0, 1, 2, 3. For a Day setup - -3, 2, 1, 0. Once you put it on your guitar, you'll find a hundred uses for it!!

The G#>G change is a great one to have, but IMO it's better to have on a knee lever, for reasons I mentioned in that thread. I have both B's to Bb on the 0 pedal.

I'm so used to having B-Bb on the vertical. I can already get the G on the 6th string with the splits and a G on string 1 with a feel stop. It just seems redundant. I'll have to study up on some copedants.

new member.i've had the 4th pedal or the 0 pedal for about a year an a half or so. i've recently moved from lowering string 5 a whole to string 7, lowering a half. I kept the 10th string lowering a whole. with the 7th lower i can get the 5th pedal of the c6 effect, and still get the maj7th from 10 9 lowered a half and the 6 string playing for Jesus sd10 mullen sd10 raines

A good thing to do with it if you play a U-12 is pull your 9th and 10th strings (B and G#) both up a step and a half to D and B respectively. This restores the exact 10 string E9 tuning on the first 10 strings and gives you a low E and a low B to boot.Besides that,it gives you a boatload of wonderful Chuck Berry,boogie-woogie,Honky-Tonk(as in Bill Doggett),Memphis, type vamps and licks when using the 11th string E as a pedal tone and alternating the O pedal with the A&B pedals and other combinations and moves.

Hi Joe, I own two new SD12 7x9 excels, both with the 0 pedal
I play every weekend here on the Mississippi Gulf coast. i find the 0 pedal to give me more options with my minors and blues style picking. i have the G# lever on my 3rd excel, a 2002 model i find it a little slower on the travel as to the 0 pedal. Maybe Joe wright will come on and give his input he is a 0 pedal original and does fantastic melodies with the 0 pedal.

Whenever I have a guitar with a 0 pedal, I like to lower 10 to a Bb and then raise 1 on another KL to a G# for an ending chord back 2 frets. Good for R & R, blues type stuff.

Thanks guys. I'm playing a D-10. I like the idea of lowering 10 from B to A, but would like to use it with the pedal 2 to get that lower octave A. Not possible in the 0 position. Maybe I could do what Michael suggested, but in reverse. D to B and B to G#. That seems like a cool idea. I'll give that some thought. I appreciate all the help.
