........
James O'Rafferty AKA J.G. O'Rafferty, one of the cleanest and fastest players I ever heard. Also a great vocalist who sometimes didn't get work because he sang better than the lead vocalist...........JH in Va.

I'm new to steel guitar, about a year and a half, but i've listened to a lot of it over the years and especially since i'm trying to learn to play the steel. Jerry Van Hoose is about as good a steel player as I have heard, and a pleasure to talk to, and willing to assist in any way he can. He's got my vote.

Dave Forehand
Dr. Rickles... Dave Forehand aka Dave Knight is my mentor. I met him in the service in Hawaii in 1962. Great player and teacher. He lives in Clinton, Missouri, about 2 miles from me and I see him every few days. We swap licks and commiserate about the old days. Just FYI Funny thing, his C-6 pedal set up is backwards to everyone else. His pedals from left to right are 76548. Works for him, drives me nuts
