My new MSA SD-12 Legend arrived today!
Drop-dead good looking and tone to the bone!
I'll get some photo's posted so everyone can see what my "dream" guitar looks like because that is exactly what MSA built for me. Thanks Kyle,Johnny & Reece.

I collected my MSA M3 in St Louis last September and have played it most days since. At the moment, I have not broken one string - amazing.

I think this a one beautiful looking instrument, and if it sounds half as good as it looks I reckon it's a winner.

It is without a doubt the best sounding "all pull" guitar that I have ever owned!

Jim,

The inlay and wood on your guitar is absolutely awesome. Makes a person want to go out and get another one!

The finish and inlay was done by Mark Giles. I got to spend some time with Mark at Jim Palenscars shop just before I ordered my guitar and he really gave me exactly what I wanted!

It's stunningly beautyful!!!!
In fact it's so breathtaking that nobody has focused on the obvious question yet: What's that pickup?

In the photo's the pick-up is a Geo-L 12-1. I'm waiting for Kyle @ MSA to get me a TrueTone 12-1, so I can have a single coil also.
I have to admit that when I do take a break from playing this guitar, I go around to the front so I can look at it! LOL!

Jim, I have three sets of pickups for my MSA's, Bill Lawrence XR-16's, George L's TW's, and Truetones. I leave the truetones on the E9th most of the time, they seem the cleanest, especially at the 12th fret and above.

Darvin, I have played Jim Palenscars Legend with the TrueTone pick-up plugged in and it has that "shimmer"of the upper harmonics of the notes that only comes from single coil pick-up's, IMHO.
I like the tone of the Geo-L for a humbucker, but around my music room every other guitar gets compaired to the tone of my 75D-10 PP with the original Emmons single coils, wood body with wood necks with "that" sound. So I'm looking forward to getting my TrueTone and hearing even more of what "Sundance" has to offer with the single coil!

Jim,

If the wait for your TruTone is a long time, I can LOAN you my 12 string TrueTone PU for my M3.

FWIW:My preferences are (in Order)
???? Has 24 magnets that show on top. About 31k ohms DC
TrueTone single coil
12-1 humbucker
E66 very bright

If I could only have one, it would be the 12-1, only because it is a humbucker AND has great tone. Someplaces I play, the True Tone single coil makes too much noise.

Enjoy, it is truly a wonderful instrument in all ways!
