Help with Sonar

Post by Eddie Harper »

I'm using Sonar 4 Producer edition with a Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum card. I use BIAB to make rhythm tracks and Power Tracks 10 to edit and load individual tracks into Sonar. When I record steel onto a seperate track I get the rhythm section recorded also to the track that i just recorded. Is there a setting in sonar that I'm missing to check. I've used Magix Studio in the past and didn't have this problem. What do I need to alleviate this problem? An Audio Interface? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Eddie

You must have only one track set for recording. No other tracks will record if the sound cannot hear them. Make sure you do not have the recording interface set for "What You Hear".

If you had the sub mix going to tracks 1 & 2,
and then added another track to record the steel,
but IT was being fed by buss 1 or 2 also.
What ever you send to it will be recorded also.

So if you are mixing to 1+2, use 3, 4 ,5 ,6 etc.
for your single instrument send.

Also if you send effects sends out and they go to a buss,
then THEY will comeout with anything you send to it.

ei. make sure ONLY your choosen track
is sending to a record buss.
