GREAT playing Hook. What a smooth sound!

I saw a guy named Gary Boggs play with Doc Williams in the late 1960's. He wasn't with Doc very long. All I remember is that he had a fantastic tone and was a super nice guy to talk to. Would this be the same guy pictured on your web site?

One more guy I admired a lot was Joe Tippy (spelling?). He played on Roy Scott's versions of the Color Song and Highway Man. I checked with Doc when I was down in Wheeling and he didn't have the 45. He also said Tippy played too many notes and was too jazzy for his liking hehe. Love to to have a good copy of that 45 and anything else with Tippy on it. Joe was great with sound effects and so I heard he could emulate the sound of the studio 8 track rewinding via his steel guitar better than anyone. My dad originally got all his records through Tommy Edwards in Cleveland so we got a ton of new and DJ only releases.

Greg, I`m not familar with Joe. Boggs has told me lots of stories about Doc and the jamboree. I have met Doc and Chickie several times but I do not recall Joe. Real good looking website too Greg. Image
