New DVD Release

Post by Mike Sweeney »

I have just released a new performance DVD. This is a live project filmed at the Hotel Preston in Nashville over a period of several months. There are 12 instrumentals and 6 songs with guest vocalists including Vern Gosdin and Clinton Gregory. The DVD is 1 hour and 20 minutes long. You can email me for ordering information.

I'd also like to thank all those at the Norwalk Show who picked up a copy. The response has been good so far.

Thanks!

I just listened to Mike Sweeney's 'Live From The Hotel Preston 2006' and throughly enjoyed this release! Mike has always been and continues to be one of my favorite steel players. The recording is a composite of live performances that includes country, swing, and jazz doing songs such as My Mother's Eyes, Sweet Memories, Chicken Shack, San Francisco, etc. Much of the great steel work is original Mike Sweeney creativity with a touch of Buddy, Curley, and Lloyd mixed in. There are several jazz/swing-oriented songs that feature outstanding turnarounds by each player in the group! If you like live recordings, then you should enjoy listening to the outstanding work of Mike Sweeney!

Thanks Lefty. I'm glad you like it. It was a lot of fun putting it together. And I'll tell everyone the you're the guy I learned " My Mothers Eyes " from. You're one of my heroes too.
See if you can make it down to Tn. soon as we won't be coming up that way next year.

This is one fine piece of work. Mike you really did great on this one. Your playing is great, the song selection is real good, the guest vocalists all are exceptional, and the band plays super. This would be a wonderful addition to any collection.
