Ok all you Dwight fans. He has sent me a tape which I have not fully disected but here are a few bits. more later. All I have said about Dwight in the past has been from reputable scources which aren't that reputable. Dwight states that he did not play bass for Sam Gillotti in FL. He did play in a haw combo ran by George "Hula" Hines. When Halaloke was on the Arthur Godfrey show Hula Hines played steel. Dwight left this and used a drum machine to play rhythem and worked as a solo and changed his style to chord melody playing to add body to the music. More tomorrow as I disect the tape more. CC |

more on Dwight. He states that his "rig" consisted of two 8strg guitars and an amp. He states he did not sell them and he has one guitar left. Dwight seems quite happy and travels around FL in his van; did not say what type. He is the same old Dwight that so many of us think so much of. cc |

Hello CC. I am enjoying Dwight's music, also. He is not only a fine steel guitarist, but he also plays great rhythm guitar in the Freddy Green tradition. I can't believe that Dwight gets all of those chords out of his steel, plus his single note stuff reminds me of Jerry Byrd. Dwight is an undiscovered treasure.

I agree and he still has his tuning E B G# F# E B G# low E. Dwight doesn't change tunings Its all there. Dwight is the most unasuming guy there is. He lets others talk about how great he is. CC |

Dwight sent me a tape in January of music he played in 1986 (practice tunes) and from a live gig from 1975. He is a great player and a nice man.
