The transaction of the payment of this amp has been put on hold by Paypal. They are investegating, and said they would let me know something within 5 days. I'll let you guys know something as soon as I hear from Paypal. The amp may, or may not be still for sale. Thanks

When I use PayPal to buy something, it always takes time to "clear". When I transfer funds from my bank to PayPal, it takes three business days, and shows up as an "E-Check". I don't like to keep money in my PayPal account, as I would rather keep it in my bank and draw interest. PayPal would like everyone to keep funds in their account. A transfer should be instant. Just like using your debit card. I guess thats how they make their money. BTW, Dillon is a great guy to deal with.

Curt, I'm just relaying what Paypal told me.
When I sell something, if the buyer pays with paypal, I expect the funds to be instant, and not have to wait 5 days for them to do an investegation!.
From now own, it's money order only.

Just for the record, I have talked to Dillon via email and seems like there was a mistake on Paypals part. But, Paypal has decided to do a reversal of payment.
I've talked to Dillon Via email,He seems like a good guy, and have told him if he still wants the amp just send a MO.
So, waiting to hear from Dillon.
AMP IS SOLD PENDING PAYMENT.

A word to the wise. If you use pay pal you take a risk if you do it on the road. They flagged my instruction as requiring investigation because it was not sent through my regular internet service provider. When I contacted them on line (still on the road) they asked for my bank account number for verfication. Since I did not have it memorized I could not provide it immediately, so I logged out to call my wife and get the number. As soon as I logged out in the middle of the verfication process, they decided I was an identity thief and killed the transaction. The prevalence of internet fraud has given these folks a hair trigger. This so called "convenience" has been a pain in the rear on this transaction and we will go forward with a MO and express mail. Thanks Curt for your kind words and thanks Terry for your patience.

Terry, it will be instant if and ONLY IF the buyer already has the money in his PayPal account. PayPal requires you to have a bank account connected with your PayPal account, to draw from. My problem with PayPal is that it takes 3-5 days for them to draw funds from your bank. That should not be. I spoke with my bank, and was told the holdup is on PayPal's end. And, I for one, will NOT keep large sums of money in PayPal. When I use PayPal, it shows the transaction as "pending" and is considered an "E-Check".
I too tend to think that a M.O. is the only way to go. However, if you sell a big ticket item, there are some folks who will not pay any other way except PayPal. So, I just figure the extra 2.9% in the price.

Curt, I guess some people are ok with having funds in Paypal via credit card, but do not feel comfortable giving them their bank account number. That's me, I just don't want to give my bank account # out over the internet.
I change my Paypal password every so often, because I'm a little leary of giving them my credit card number.
Anyway, it's water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned.

If you have a debit card connected to your bank account and on file with PayPal/Verified the funds are instant. I've never ever had a problem with the funds being there instantly if they're transferred via a debit card, And it comes from the same source. Your bank account! or vise-versa. my transactions are always instant with my debit card. I've transferred money in and out of several personal bank accounts to test this theory, Transferring from debit instead of bank direct is instant. IF you do buy and sell through PayPal I suggest getting a PayPal debit card. The card is available free to user's that have been a PayPal merchant for 60 days and it works just like a normal debit card, No hidden fee's. I've had mine for about 2 years. This way when funds are transferred to your PayPal account you don't have to wait 5-7 days for the funds to be transferred to your bank. You can go to any ATM and pull your cash directly from your PayPal account out. Then do whatever you want with it instantly!
[This message was edited by Ben Turner on 25 August 2006 at 07:57 PM.]
