I own this Junior Brown CD "Down Home Chrome" which knocks me out.
Is it really a no peddle steel on songs like "It Hurts When I Do That" and "Hill Country Hot Rod Man" ???

Hey Thomas--I can't answer the question about that album or those cuts and yes, Junior does some remarkable non-pedal playing on his guit-steel but he does also play some pedal steel. Don't know on what cuts, though.

"It Hurts When I Do That" sounds like classic pedal steel to me, but I don't hear any pedals on "Hill Country Hot-Rod Man". He's quite adept at both styles, but it's not usually too hard to pick up on the tell-tale sounds of each instrument repectively on Junior's material.
