Are you listening?

Post by Brent LaBeau »

Because I can't!
I haven't been able to connect for weeks.
What's going on there? HTTP://206.222.58.30:8000 used to get me in to hear all the hits, but now...... bupkis.
Can someone PLEASE guide me towards the tunes?
Thanks.

Here's what I got using the link above.
"ERROR CONNECTING TO HOST"
"SERVER TIMED OUT"

AAARGH!
So their server is NOT down?
And everybody else can hear the sweet sounds of the steel guitar but me?!?!?!
This is getting frustrating.

Lately, I go to Scotty's site and hit the on air button, and my receiver program pops up but I get no sound. Then I hit the on air button a second time and the connection completes, and the sound comes through.

Just tried again to be sure, and it works the same way.
[This message was edited by Jim Jasutis on 23 March 2005 at 11:07 AM.]

I dunno...I click the link above and my Winamp player opens up and begins playing.

By the way, the link I gave is what you go to when clicking the "On Air" button on the steelradio website.

I get a message that I don't have the right codec installed. If I knew what it was I'd try to find and install it.

I was trying to use Windows Media Player. I now use Winamp and it works just fine. I'm lovin' it.

Thanks for all of your replies.
But I still can't connect.
I believe my problem is that I'm trying to listen while at work. And our network is behind a hoss firewall.
Apparently the port that the old STEEL RADIO server used was accessible to me but the new server (port 8600) is locked down tight.
My loss. I guess I'll need to find me another day gig.
