Request for feedback re. Steel Radio
I subscribed to Real One Playes for purpose of picking up Steel Radio during the convention. I assumed (perhaps erroneously) that Steel Radio would be on the air throughout the year. If that is not true, I want to cancel Real One before the free trial period expires.
What's the deal?

Hey, you guys:
Donny solved my problem. In case any of you want to listen to Steel Radio and need the RealOne Player for your computer, you can, in fact, get the free version from the link Donny gave me. I hadn't found it but, instead, I had downloaded the version that gives you 14 days free and, if you don't cancel, it automatically hits your credit card for $49.95 annually.
The link for the free download is
RealOne Free Download
Isn't this Forum a great place for sharing information? Thanks for that, b0b -- and you may close this thread if you wish.

Also you can listen in winamp,
which is far less annoying than real player.
real player is always trying to get you to upgrade to real one and sell you stuff.

The only time steel radio isn't on in my studio is when I'm playing some old 78's of Sol Hoopii or Dick McIntyre!!!!!
Mayeb you could add some of the old Hawaiian stylists to the playlist but so far....
It's freakin' GREAT STUFF! KEEP IT ON!!!

I just tried SteelRadio again, and the same results. I got on just fine, listened to 20 seconds of steel then 30 seconds of silence for "rebuffering". This cycle is continuous. Can anybody offer some help as to why others can listen, but I can't? My system is 8.6 Macintosh Imac. My internet provider is AOL.

Since I see no one has mentioned it,let me suggest my favorite player, Musicmatch. I use it altogether now as I've found it to be best for me to record with as well as to listen to Steel Radio annd mine stays on most of the time with very little trouble or dropouts.
And its free for the basic and a $20 feeto get all the bells and whistles.

Nothing/nobody ever comes to this neck o' the woods but thanks to whoever it was that clued me in that Scotty's show could be heard on this site. What a great experience.
I've listened to it daily and could hardly be without it.
WHo selects the songs for the program?
MORE info' for some of us residing outside the music loop of St.Louis. THANK YOU

Would somebody mind telling me where to find SteelRadio.com? I searched the Internet and even downloaded RealOnePlayer (free) to look for it, but the station was nowhere to be found. This search was done on Sept 12, 2003.
Forget it, I found it on Scotty's website.

www.live365.com is the BEST and easiest Internet radio I have found and has an unbelievable selection of programming to choose from. Just type in SGI Radio in the search box and it should bring it right up.
