Just wanted to let you know about my latest model, the AERO. The complete description is listed on Ebay with some pics. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7380534912

The pics are of the prototype with one pickup. In the future it will be available with one or two pickups, Lollar or Duncan or? and an extended tail section with a hipshot Tilogy. If a forum guy wins this guitar I'll kick a sheckel to BoB!
let me know what you think of the design.
Thanks!

Loni, looks real nice. Love the set up. Hey, I was wondering why the 24" scale out of all the possible scale choices. I know Dick McIntire used a 25 1/2 " scale. Thanks...

As you know by now Loni, I love designs that's a bit 'outside' of the norm,- I loved it!! I need one of those in my small collection of working steels one day, but it'll have to wait for a time when I'm on a little friendlier terms with my bank manager...
Nice work!

Hi Jess,
I just really like that show 24 Keifer Sutherland is so cool........
Actually, I wanted a scale between the original 26" Stringmaster and the small 22.5" hawaiian scale. My other original model was 24.75" and sounds fine. My Harmos is 24" and it's great too. Iknow the 'slants' are easier on shorter scales, so I wanted the AERO to apeal to everyone. Better tone and doable slants.
It works great!

Very nice, Loni -- I love original thinking. The extended bridge plate is very cool. And I'd like to see what you do with a second pickup. Say, where does it plug in?

Congratulations on a great design.

Thanks for all your comments. I really appreciate the praise.
The next one will have a slightly wider top level to facilitate a second pickup, as the taper of this area into the fingerboard gets a little narrow where the metal plate ends.

The input jack plate is located on the bass side lower bout edge. You can see it in the pics if you put your readers on.I put some serious thought into this often overlooked jack placement.
This location is out of the player's way, and out of sight from the audience. It also clears the yoke of my typical guitar stand.

Ric, Never been to that mad scientist site, but interesting for sure. I think it's inspired me to re-shape my billiard ball set! Round is just so boring.

PS. If anyone has any negative comments on the AERO, I want those too.

It's a bit hard to tell from the photos, so - what the clearance between strings and fretboard? Looks a bit close to me,- for some reason I've always been a bit uncomfortable with having the strings to close to the fretboard, had to have a new nut made for my Asher..

negative, eh? um....that does NOT look bad. How 'bout that?

Seriously, I like that a lot.
I always wonder, with outside the box shapes (and sometimes with inside the box shapes too) just how it handles, ergonomically. Good balance & comfort in the lap?

Very cool. Reminds me a little of the Zeta electric violin shape.

String height is 3/8" at the bridge and the nut before grooving is also 3/8", so it's a little lower with the grooves.
Ive beem playing it agressively with the tip of my GS swallows/shub and Dunlop Lap Dawg and haven't hit the fingerboard once. My string set is Dean Markley 13-56. I have it tuned, low to high, GBDGBD.

It balances perfectly on my lap and I forget it is there, when I'm 'into it', if you know what I mean.I'm 5'8" The wide lower bout stabilizes it very well.

Hi Jody,
What! Not TWEED enough? Dang. I beg to differ O Great Knight of Tweed. Look at that Tele/ Stringmaster inspired bridge set-up. Ok, OK, maybe I mixed a little too much Paisley with the Tweed.
The beat goes on....
See you at NAMM for sure.

Loni,
Nice design for sure !!.....I like it all, but I especially like the bridge setup ...It looks sort of like a twin screw oversized vintage Tele setup !!....Very vintagey !!..If the intonation is off a little , a little adjustment is all that's needed !!....Very trick !....Jim
