hi brad,
was looking at your older m.s.a classic. just wondering what you have in it how many pedals&knee's ect. i play a older m.s.a d-10vintage xl 8+6 great guitars those m.s.a's
how do you like you new m.s.a??
what kind of amp do you use?

Paul, my MSA Classic is a maple body D-10 8&4. My pedals are typical Emmons set up. My knees are e raise and lower on rh and I lower the 2nd d# a half and the 6th a whole on the E 9th on the lh. I don't really play much c6th but I believe the pedals are standard. Its still set up the way it was when I purchased it 15 or so years ago. Over the years I've had several players tell me that I should get the knees changed around or "fixed" so that it could be played. I guess that I never did and now its all I know. It was my first and only guitar until I got the Legend in the middle of Sept. after buying it in St. Louis. The only modification its had is the E9th pickup was changed to George L PF. When I bought it, I couldn't play a note and knew of no-one who did, so I had no idea of what I was buying. Later I found how fortunate I was to begin on such a quality unit. As far as amps, I still use a rack system with profexII, a rack mounted delay unit and usually a CS 800 power amp into 2 Nashville E 115 speakers. Heavy like the double hernia MSA but lots of head room and clean.
I very much like my new Legend. As much as I set it up to be like the Classic, after that many years of playing one guitar, it still takes a while getting used to its "feel" but now I wouldn't trade it for any other of the new guitars that I tried down in St. Louis. I did almost buy a different brand, but decided on it. They are more $ but I don't trade often so I went for the one that I prefered, but I'm no pro,just a weekend warrior. |

thanks brad for the info. both your m.s.a 's are beautifull looking guitars. i am to a weekend player here in illinios but my band is the base out of new lisbon wisconsin. i plan to come up to minnesota for ther jam session when they have it hope to to see you there. i think they have a new web site...

Thanks Paul. On occassion, I play with a band that plays in Onalaska, Wi at the Legion there. I don't think that its too far from there to New Lisbon. I am supposed to be in Onalaska on New Years eve for a job. Maybe I'll see you sometime.
