I also thought Buck Reid's "A Work in Progress" was excellent too. |

If it's country, Mike Sweeney's "Heart of Steel". If it's Gospel, Nic du Toit's "The Lighthouse. Two great steel players, two great cd's. |

Tommy Whites "By Request" is right up there on top with Buck Reids "Work In Progress". Beautiful stuff both ways. For sessions work yes Paul Franklin is great, but once more let us not forget Lloyd Green. He's done some great stuff this year as well. All of them are worthy of our praise. Keeps me working on trying to figure how just how in the heck they did that stuff!!!

Doug Jernigan's Speed Picking and Country Ballads". IMHO his best album ever. Brent Mason plays a ton on this album and all the steel and guitar parts are up front in the mix. In spite of all the speed picking, the songs are tastefully done with lots of melody playing. He perfomed most of the numbers in person at St. Louis 2 years ago in a small side room and it was amazing,
