"I always thought it was kind of tacky, too. I think the music should be the draw, and if you're that great, your music will be enough to let people know who you are".

Speaking of being "GREAT", NOEL BOGGS has to be one of the greatest. You'll notice his name scrolled across the front of most every guitar he ever owned. Check out Merle Travis, Hank Snow and other 'greats' who had their names either on the guitar body or along the fretboard. Some 'greats' had their names on their guitar straps. Names on instruments might seem 'tacky', however I see nothing tacky about it. Probably dates back to the days of the Big Band drummers, when most of whom had either their initials or their full names printed on their bass drum. Image

DW (Dear Wife) and I had the pleasure to seeing and listening to Ralph Mooney - his great guitar has a picture of the Moon (the planet) inlayed on one side of the front.

Another player has a decal that says "Chick Magnet"

Goes down to taste, I think (Just like playing)

Michael, I've been to your fair city, when the Cowboy Saloon was alive and kickin'. Hung out with Dennis, Jim and yes Smiley. Poor guy can't help it ya know?

Hope to be back your way again before long...time for another CW Music fix.
