I snuck into the old Stagecoach Inn in Stamford, Texas at the age of 16 to hear Ray Price. I'm 53 years old and still hope my mother don't hear about this! Jimmy Day was the steel player that night and he captured my attention. Loved the sound above all other musical instruments since that night.
forgot to mention sneaking into some old beer joint in Lubbock one night to hear the Maines Brothers. Again, it was in my 16th year! Loyd Maines was fabulous. Please don't any of you tell my mother about this! She'd kill me!!!! Ha Ha
