I am playing a gig with wendel adkins this saterday, here in Norway. Do any of you know of him overthere? Seemed like a nice fellow and a good artist when we rehearsed

If its the same Wendal Adkins, I know him. I did some shows & backed him up at Gillys in Houston Tex. around 1985. Great singer/ Artist sounds a lot like Waylon. |

Thats him, sounded a lot like waylon. I`m playing for him tomorrow night here in Kvinesdal, Norway.
Im actually not playing steel for him this time, I play 6-string eletric and mandolin.Maybe some lapsteel...

Tor:I knew Wendel when he lived in Texas in the 70's,he sounded exactly like Waylon Jennings,and is also the nicest guy in the world...please tell him hi for me,and fun plying music with him. |

Hi Stu, played with Wendel last night. Was great fun. He told me to say Hi back to you!

Yeah, a great singer and a ringer for 'ol
Waylon. Our band used to open for David Allan Coe quite a bit and Wendell was his front man. One night we were in a noisy redneck bar (actually called "The Redneck
Saloon") and the restless crowd was chanting "David Allan Coe, David Allan Coe".
Wendell stepped up to the mike and in that big voice hit "This Time" and the whole
multitude gasped.(and shut up and listened). |
