I did it for 2 days and thought it dull. Am I alone in this opinion?

I've never done it but would if given the chance. Fat chance of it ever coming down here, but it really should; the average person has no idea of what American country music is here. "Achey Breakey Heart" is about all they know of country music here.

I never did the "Always Patsy Cline" show, but I once screwed up a Patsy Cline Medley on an outside stage because I couldn't hear the monitors. The female "star" had to come over and sing in my ear to get me back on track. How embarrassing!

Come to think of it....that job was a casual booking with a touring celebrity and they have never called me again. They never even gave me an opportunity to "blame" it on the sound techs.

I played it a couple of years ago, we had a blast. Coincidentally enough, Walter Haynes was playing at Saluda one of the three weekends we did the show!

I truly feel gyped.....I saw the show in Ft. Myers, FL and it was good, but there was not a steel player within 150 miles..........sigh

Patsy Cline was a great singer. I don't think she knew how great she would really be. I was fortunate to record most of her records. I think I might have missed a couple of sessions. I don't remember all the titles, but of course, I remember "Crazy", "Sweet Dreams", Strange,
She's Got You. Songs like "Crazy", the producer wanted me to sound like Vibes. I used that sound on many records. We were all in our 20's and never thought about the year 2006. It sure was some trip.

Sort of a "rite-of-passage" for steelers? You're not the real deal until you have participated at least a few times?

I played 4 week run in Norfolk Va in 1997 (?). Got extended for 2 more weeks. Really a hoot.

I played the "Always Patsy Cline" show two years ago in Dickson Tenn at the Renaissance Center. Had a great time, loved the tunes. We were lucky to have a Great "Patsy" singing for us. "Always" ready to do it again, I'm just "Crazy" I guess.

I've played the show about eight times. Very enjoyable with classic tunes. The F lever sure gets a workout with augmented and diminished chords.

I played this show about thirty times around Ardmore, Oklahoma. I really enjoyed it, and so did the people. I really liked playing " 2 cigaretts in an ashtray"

the show ran in Charlotte a year or so back, I got a phone call, but was not home. A great local player, Brian Hudson , took the gig but the gig only lasted like 1 week before they shut it down...

I would be grateful to play just one Always Patsy Show...if given the opportunity...

Did it in Omaha for a few weeks in the early/mid 90's. Had a great time. We had a music director that insisted/demanded note for note every show which tended to make things a little boring at times.

I played the show for the entire run in NYC, and have done it in about a half dozen regional productions too. Always fun.

I have played it three different times. IN 94 I played a six week inhouse run. Did a National Tour 95-96 and two months in Jackson Miss. I enjoyed all three of them. Had some great musicians to pick with. The tour was 150 shows in 40 states lasting for a year and a half. Loved it. my steel took me places I may never see again for the rest of my life. Sweet Dreams is going to have to be the favorite song for me I think. I reall got to shine on that one.

Jessica Welch was the girl that played Patsy on our tour. She did a wonderful job. I had heard that she went up to Alaska after that. Hope she's doing well.

Jessica Welch was Patsy for the first 8 weeks of the 33 weeks I did in Austin. Great singer and a lovely person. She asked if I knew fellow forumite Roger Rettig (she spoke very highly of you, old chap!)...and that's when I knew the internet had made the world a lot smaller.... ha
