Tony, it was nice meeting you in St Louis, but it was also frustrating because we didn't have a chance to sit down and talk for a few minutes. I really wanted to talk more with you. Next time, we grab a cup of coffee together, OK?

The same holds true for everybody else I shook hands with, but didn't get a chance to talk with. There is so much going on at these steel shows, it's impossible to talk to everybody, and see everything.

I had breakfast with Mike, and introduced him to my daughter and my son-in-law (who does not play the b@njo - he plays the mandolin). The conversation covered many non-steel topics, including fire insurance and pit bulls.

I love my pit bull. Petey is the most loving friendliest, sweetest dog imaginable. He has never known anything but love and affection and positive reinforcement, and he acts accordingly.

He's as string as an ox, but gentle as a lamb.

I guess you folks know that pit bulls have been outlawed in Ontario. It's now a criminal offence to bring one in or breed them. I'm not criticizing the doggies, just telling the facts here in Ontario!!!

Tony,

It was great to finally get to meet you at the convention. I have tried several times to route myself near your place when driving to various steel shows, so I could buy you a cup and yak about music for awhile. I enjoy your posts on the forum, and I hope next year to have more time to visit with you in St Louis..

Mike, it was good to meet you Sunday after the closing tune at the convention. I was glad to hear that the Curly Chalker video is going to be a reality. Keep us posted. I always like to meet other forum members, its nice to be able to actually talk to someone that you feel like you kinda already know because of this great forum.

Mike, my wife and I enjoyed having dinner with you in the hotel restaurant. She said you were an interesting person but I was still better looking (I got her fooled, eh?). It was great seeing you again and I hope we can pick together sometime....JH in Va.

So many friends.... so little time.

I wish the convention lasted a while week, with 2 or 3 days set aside just for visiting and socializing.

Hey Jerry, when are you gonna come back and visit all your old LA friends?

Thanks Mike, It was great to finally meet you as well. I have stuck the CD you gave me in the player but believe it or not I have been slammed with work and band duties and have not had the time yet to give it the full listen as you requested, what I did hear I liked very much. It is now in the car which is where I get my good listening time in.

I met and caught up with so many forum friends which really made this the BEST St Louis yet for me.

b0b, Roy, Tim, Mike ,Chris Ledrew, Dave Magram, Marty Friedman who I have not seen in 30 years.. and so many more where it is impossible to remember each person at this precise moment..

This was a fine time in St Louis this year..the music was great, the activity in the rooms was great and running into forum members was most excellent..

Spending time talking with Forum friends as well as Mike Brown, Mike Aldrich, John ,Ann and Bud over there at Carter, Herb Steiner, Mike Sigler, Buddy, Randy B, Tom Brumley , Jay Dee , Maurice, David Wright and so many other artists and vendors was just too much fun...

see you all next year..I hope..

I Also sat down to the buffet with Mike. We solved a lot of problems in the political world as well as the music world.
The only trouble is no one will listen to us...maybe that's not a bad thing...I really enjoyed our chat..

Bud

Mike, it sure looks like you got to eat a lot of decent meals in St. Louis. Me, I was stuck with the hotdogs and burgers for every meal cuz I didn't want to take the time away from the show...
