This song came out in November 1972. Just wondering if anyone knew who played Steel on it. Nick

Holy smokes.... Ben Keith is just super. Tone, taste, restraint........ He's one of the main reasons I play.

I remember Big Ben Keith from his days with Faron Young. He was playing great then - still is.

Ben Keith played steel on Patsy Cline's classic I Fall to Pieces. What a great player.

Thanks for the great responses. Ben Keith is a tremendous talent. I think he should be inducted into the steel guitar HOF. Put him and Bobbe in at the same time. Nick

I just heard this last night on an oldies station here in Fort Smith. I really enjoyed the steel playing. Quite a bit of steel guitar all through the song.

What a career--to go from Patsy Cline to Neil Young, to producing a multi-platinum record for Jewel, and back to Neil Young. I'm jealous...

By the way, the Neil Young movie "Heart of Gold" that recently weas released on DVD is killer--lots of Big Ben and lots of Emmylou, too...

He's killing it in the new Neil Young movie that just came out on DVD. I think the DVD is called Heart of Gold, it's their performance of Neils last albumn and filmed at the old opre.
