A lighter approach to individual stances concerning how others live their lives, would be most welcome at this time. Camaraderie is the key to worthwhile satisfaction, in the study of the steel guitar. |

Bill, I agree. Steel players are a rare breed, and we should show each other respect out of our mutual love for the instrument, even if we differ on other issues.
It is useless to try to force other people to change their view of the world. One cannot control another person - the only real exception is when someones behavior is so pathological that they need to be imprisoned. Otherwise, we only have the power to influence. To influence someone, one needs to command respect with them. This requires a meeting of the minds, which requires mutual respect. Real satisfaction in a relationship with anybody begins there, and cameraderie flows from this. IMO. |

I agree too. There are a few people here who act very hostile towards other members. That's not right. We have more in common than that which seperates us. We should try to all get along with each other.

Debunking your assertions relating to 1849 ambushers who lurked around gold digging camps, would not be an easy task. The late LOUIS L'AMOUR, was the best selling frontier writer who elucidated countless times, the dread of becoming a victim of an ambusher's rifle. The intrepid individuals who hungered for a better life, were soon made aware of the risks involved, long before they drifted into the sights of a "claim jumper". However, analogizing links to a likeness in steel players, would obviously be regarded as a mere jest. I'm confident that you will agree, that this SGF offers information of great value. |
