Last night someone broke into my van and stole most of my pedal steel gear. I lost a GFI Ultra D10, 6, which is blue and black. It is the model with keys. I lost a Jak-Pak seat with all my bars, picks, tuner, strings, Ebow, tools, etc. These items can eventually be replaced however, it is heart breaking to me that I also lost an original Boss Tone, an original script model MXR Dyna-Comp, a Peavy Profex II and a Stewart PA - 500 power amp. These items are no longer made and unless I find them here or on Ebay, or a vintage gear dealer, I probably cannot replace them.

I have made a list, called the police and my insurance company. I am now calling music store and pawn shops in the area.

I am posting a reward leading to the recovery of all or part of my gear. I live in south central Indiana. Anybody who happens to see any this stuff in a store, on EBay, etc. Please get in touch with me.

I know a lot of Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio players frequent this site, please be on the look-out for my stuff. Thanks

That bites. Do you have a picture of your guitar to help us watch for it ?

You might also keep an eye on Craigs List for a while (under "music instr")

Hi Gary, I am so sorry for your loss man that makes me sick I too have been a victim of theft this year but I got some of my stuff back thank God!

I know you probably wouldn't like it but I have a Peavey Transfex pro with 2-12's and a Transtubefex it's just like a tubefex only newer and supposedly better and it's built right in. The amp is a stereo amp 135 watts on each side with 2 sheffields and steel sounded pretty good thru it when Murph used it for a couple of weeks.

You're more than welcome to borrow it and keep it as long as you need it. I'm not using it right now and it might get you out of a bind and I wouldn't be in any hurry for it back.

We'd have to ship it unless you ever get down to Nashville. Like I said I know it's probably not what you want but if you get in a bind just let me know. I hope you can get your stuff back and real soon!!!!

These posts break my heart more than about anything... best wishes and good luck recovering your gear. If you have time, call as many nearby police departments as possible, and ask if there's a specific officer who is the liason with local Pawn shops and flea markets. They often have a guy who checks with the local resale places who you can put on the lookout. So much musical gear is stolen by people who have no idea of it's true value and just want to dump it. Here's hoping you get lucky!

There have been several people who have called, emailed or posted on this forum their willingness to loan me gear and/or offer sympathy over this situation. I really appreciate your gestures and sentiments.

I especially would like to thank Frenchy Messier for dropping everything and going to a lot of trouble to put together and ship overnight a large order of misc. gear to get me back on my feet. I have known and conducted business with Frenchy for a long time and he has always done right by me.

Here is a word of warning! CHECK YOUR INSURANCE POLICY TO SEE IF YOUR GEAR IS COVERED!!!! Mine is giving me a hard time about covering me on this loss. They are telling since I use my gear professionally, even though it's part-time, it is not covered. According to them I need a separate policy covering any musical equipment used to make money. When I changed insurance companies, about this time last year, I asked them if I was covered for this type of thing and they said yes. I was busy moving, fixing up and selling my former house and I didn't stop to read the fine print. That's my problem and I will fight it. Just don't let the same thing happen to you. It's bad enough losing equipment you value but not to be compensated for the loss is adding insult to injury.

Garry stop talking to the insurance com. get a copy of your policy and its limits study it, why would they pay you when they can lie to you? go talk to a lawyer. I dealt with these snakes I feel bad for you but I am not surprised by there response. A good lawyer is really a light at the end of a tunnel not just a train heading at you...

I wish you luck Gary - But any insurance I ever had on instruments used professionally had to have a seperate rider to be covered and all itemized with values and/or receipts. On my homeowners policy they would only be covered up to a certain $ amount if I wasn't taking them out of the house

Garry, this is awful. I will keep a lookout and let my musician friends in the Indy area know about this and keep an eye out for you.

Also, in case you haven't thought of it yet, post this over at indianapolismusic.net.
