I just happened upon this site today while looking for clothes. Looks like they carry allot of really cool western styled clothes for stage or elsewhere. Thought you guys and gals might be interested. I've been looking for this stuff for along time and now it looks like I can find it all in one spot. http://www.vintagewesternwear.com/

Funny, our drummer just mentioned this site yesterday and I planned to check it out. Thanks for the link! I have one of those Scully shirts and they're probably the closest thing of the factory made shirts to the old gabardine western shirts, very nice material and good quality.

Yes thanks for the link. I have 3 different HbarC shirts, and my wife made the pants to match. We just haven't played at a place where we could where them. She said that see could have made the shirts a lot cheaper than they charge, but I figured that was to much sewing for her to do. She only made 26 pair of pants for the band, then the sewing machine locked up. I guess it got to hot from all the sewing she was doing.

Very cool site, thanks for sharing it with us. Believe it or not, my teenage kids go shopping at The Goodwill Stores. They find a lot of old western pearl snap shirts there for not much $$$.

Really far out, thanks for sharing it! I´ll just have to get some of those items to wear on stage, over here you can´t find any like that.

Regards, JH

Erv. When I was working with the late and great Fiddle player Paul Harper, we wore Nudie suits. He furnished them and when a new musician was added, they were altered. The way they were made they were fairly simple to alter. Unless you went from small to xxl. They were very comfortable.

I have been wearing western style clothes all of my life and I still get them at any good western shop. I can't emagine wearing any other kind. Also, Penneys carries a good line of Wrangler Snap shirts.

Glad some you are digging these shirts as much as I do. I recently outfitted our whole band with a few of the Scullys. We had a photo shoot awhile back so I'll post some pics soon.

Slim

BTW-the shirts look so much better in person, the detailing and emproidery are incredible.

There is nothing that can beat the looks of a band when all the members are dressed alike. It seem to make them sound better also!

I want the shirt that has 4 Aces on the shoulders and one hidden behind the cuff! Way cool!

Another cool site is Katyk.com. She's not cheap, but she makes some cool shirts. She's made me a couple that were made to my specifications. In my opinion well worth the extra bucks. She also sells Scully and the other brands, but her Scully prices are a bit inflated. She's got a cool store in Nashville.

Hey memphislim, Maybe some of those Nashville singers should take the cue from you and your band and stop wearing those sloppy,"HOLE-IN-THE-KNEE" jeans.

Thanks, this is a great link. Some of the stuff is a little spendy for this cowboy. CLICK HERE to see a pretty nice vintage shirt available in both black and white for only $30. More stuff at this site too if you want to take the time to dig through it. Most of it is pretty reasonable too,

Enjoy...

Any of you guys order any of this stuff yet? How many of you wear this kind of stuff on stage? I can't get enough of this stuff and think the nicer the band looks, the higher the chance you're gonna get the casuals that are out there.

I haven't ordered from this particular site yet, but it sure seems to be a potential source to get matching shirts for the whole band. Personally I agree with you Slim, I couldn't imagine myself going on stage in t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes. Heck, I wouldn't play tennis in my Nudie suit either To each his own of course and sure, nice clothes don't make a good musician but they do make a better show.

Hey, Memphis, yep I'm way into the retro cowboy threads look, too---your band looks sharp in the matching shirts, guess I can't buy that one and wear it to my LA gigs, they'll think I'm in your band, or YOU in fact! Dang, it's a cool shirt, too.

I'm slowly growing my collection of H-Bar-C and other brands by cruising vintage clothing stores wherever I go. Prices range from $20-$60.

There's a great western wear store in Temecula, CA, I bought 2 suits there recently, they have tons of great clothes, boots, belts, buckles, all that: West Dallas, or Dallas West, the name is one way or t'other. Real nice folks there.

Wearing my "Too many flowers" shirt I got from them tonite. It's really nice, a chain stitch embroidery on a NICE heavy gabardine as advertized. 85$ and the turnaround was what they said it would be.

The "Begonia*" shirt was my second choice, and we'll see what my upcoming budget allows.]

(* Interesting that on another site I saw the VERY SAME shirt advertised as "custom hand embroidery" and selling for a THOUSAND DOLLARS!. Maybe they could be marketed in Nigeria to get some of our money back..)

Hopefully it'll make me play less pedal mashing speed picking, shrill reverb laden tastelessness.

or not..

In the neverending quest to find shirts that don't make my ass look big, I happened across a great little store in the "elite old town" district here in Portland.

Joanne the owner is a great fan of Western Music, and told me of the latest Lyle L show in town that I missed. At least I knew Buck Reid's last name.

Discounts for musicians, a good selection, and they order from Rockmount, Skully and others.

It's Five o'clock somewhere....

They are at 429 NW 11th ave in Portland between Flanders and Glisan St.s and their Web addy is www.godesperado.com

Great little store, and great musician discounts.

I just got the "Rock & Roll" shirt. Has the Gretsch guitars on the front, and has a '59 Caddy with 2 guitars in the back seat on the back of the shirt. It is so cool it's ridiculous! Love it! Thanks for the info Slim.

My wife found this shirt at Daddyos.com. More rockabilly than western, but some nice stuff. It doesn't fit as well as it use to! (Marrying a southern woman is not good for your waistline!!)

I just went back to this site and they've got allot of new, very cool shirts. They now have the Roper shirts which are top notch. The ones I have are lined in the collar and neck and fit and finish are amazing. I know have to get more gigs so I have someplace to wear all the cool stuff I just ordered.
