Brian Adams Overhaul

I just got back from Mt City Tn, where I picked up my '67 Emmons after Brian gave a good rebuild. Guess I didn't know how bad the old girl had gotten till I got it back. Everything is just the way I'd heard it would be coming from him.

I could have had it shipped back to me, but I'd have missed the oportunity to meet Brian and see the beautiful country back there.

Beside being a great push-pull mechanic, Brian is a great guy and a very generous person. What a thrill to hang out with him for the day!

Thanks Brian for the outstanding work on my guitar and let me know when you want to come shoot some prairie dogs or bull elk. I owe you one!

Pat, you are so right. Brian Adams is a great builder, tech and I hope you got to hear him play. He built my '81 push pull, my first new Emmons. I still have it and it is a keeper for sure. He also sent me a copy an album he had done on a cassette. His playing was superb, I could tell Buddy had a big influence on his playing. I have learned a lot from him about the mechanics of a push pull. He is one of the best.

Yes I did get to hear him play. I sat in his living room for hours listening to him play. Then we went to lunch and came back for a few more hours of great playing.

and hes a great player also

You know, Bryan,some years ago, ran around with guys with names like Tater,Cousin Zeke, Estel Mac and Bobby Jo !!
That will make you hide behind a steel guitar.

All kidding aside, Bryan is one of the very best.

I must sing the Brian Adams praises too.
Brian rebuilt a 72 D10 PP for me in the early 90s and it was much better than when it was new.I still have it,although I play a Derby now,I keep this one for memories.
Brian was also one of Jimmy Dickens pickers in the 70s who gave The Tater a wonderful steel guitar sound that was traditional and original at the same time.
If he ever picks for you get him to do "Raising The Dickens"in which he plays his own harmony...great trick !

He works on Carters also. I took mine up to him last year and he figured it out, Then we had coffe and he comenced to play some stuff. "Let Sweeny figure this out! He realy enjoys pickin on Mike. I heard tell that he cooks up some good "Liquid" in a Jar!
Brian IS a great steel mechanic,Player..fun to be around, and just a great person!

Yeah, ole BA is hard to beat! Been two years since he redone mine and I ain't done nuthin to it but change the strings and oil it maybe once a year.

I am very pleased with the overhaul Bryan did on my 73 Emmons S10 P/P last year. I Fedexed it up to him and in short order had it back. Thanks again Bryan.
