Roger plays with the Billy Mata Band.
Man, you talk about authentic country music
this band has it. They know their crowd and the sound level was absolutely perfect.
The mix on the dance floor was right on the money. The pulse of the kick and bass is rock solid and the tempos were great for dancing. You can see what the band looked liked and see Rogers gear. click here
The young ladies are Billys daughters and they are really good and PaPa was very proud.

My "Swingin' West" listeners world wide love Billy Mata & Texas Tradition's recordings and Roger and his steel licks are a big favorite of their's also.

Gordon,
Good to see you come by and take all of these pictures and post them.
Mike, this is a country band for sure. Even if we play a song that wasn't orginally country,by the time we git'er done, you would swear it must have been a Buck Owens or Mel Tillis song. In the past we played a little rock and newer country and tried to please everyone in the house. Since we went to just old country, (Wills,Price,Bush,Tillis),we have done much better.

Roger,
Thanks for your time on your break.
You guys dress very nice as well. I like to see that because we dress for other people not ourselves and I think it is a sign of respect to those who come to see you. Maybe I will visit some of the bar bands and show some contrast. Next weekend I might track down Kenny Groman and see who he is picking with.

I heard Roger for the first time at the Mesa show in January, and I'm sure ready to hear more Roger again.

I sure enjoyed his set.
