What a sound. And what a player! One of my favorite tunes.

Ricky Davis is one of the most soulful/emotional players out there. Thats exactly how I like to hear and play steel guitar. He has also done a tremendous amount of helping other players on this forum by sharing his knowledge. Every time you hear him play its like he's paying tribute to the steel guitar. Just outstanding. Check out that right hand.

This sounds absolutely GREAT, despite the fact that I'm listening to it from the cr@ppy, 1-inch/1 microwatt monophonic speaker in my computer, hidden way under my desk.
Marvelous tone, marvelous playing. My hat's off to Ricky (if i had had a hat, that is)!

Hummm...welll....Huh...I didn't know I made that public actually. I uploaded it as it was the only way a friend could see it; but I thought I made it private??>I guess not.
Anyway...>so it's out there and I'm humbled by the very kind remarks....ya'll certainly know how to make a brother feel good.
I played that "Blue Darlin" Fulawka for Ed Fulawka and his beautiful Bride in their show room in St. Louis years ago; for Eddy to tape me playing that special steel he built for me as a tribute to Jimmy Day.
He wanted it on Tape; so I went for it.
Of course you hear some "Lloyd-ness" in there; as I just came from the main room where Lloyd just finished his set....and of course; I am heavily influenced by pretty much any and everything Lloyd Green does...so there ya have that..ah...ha.
I thank you all for your kind words and Kevin; that is exactly what I feel when I play. I have been soooo completely lucky to have so many great mentors and role models to follow along with; and they have always given me their all in insight and passion and knowledge, of/for the instrument; and with that, I try my hardest to give as much passion and tribute to the instrument, wheather I'm playing it or working on it or discussing it; as the way they have displayed it to me.
