Outstanding classic pedal steel guitar. That is the style of single note runs that I shoot for in my style. Outstanding classic tone from that wood neck Emmons also. That kind of playing says it all for me. Thanks XM Satellite Radio. [This message was edited by Kevin Hatton on 25 May 2006 at 10:31 AM.] |

Kevin:I lived in Austin when that recording came out and I remember hearing that Jimmy Day was originaly supposed to be on the record but I guess there was some kind off falling out so Willie Got J.H.it's a great solo.I think that there'a photo of John playing the wood neck Emmons on the Dickie Betts Highway Call record. Yes, JH was playing a Wood/Wood PP Emmons on that album. In fact, I liked it so much I ordered my 75'PP with a Wood/Wood set up and have never regreted it once in 31 yrs.
When I bought a Nashville 400 AMP from John a few yrs ago, I told him that his playing on that W/W Emmons was the reason I got mine that way. He said "I sure hope you like it". Ya, you could say that!
