What a time I had Saturday night picking along beside Roger and the boys in Billy Mata's Texas Tradition Band. I had a ball despite a few train wrecks I caused by not knowing arrangements. These boys are great to work with and a great band. I also had the pleasure of picking with the great Floyd Domino....he was a stand in also. If any of you fellow forumites like western swing and are in the San Antonio area..go out and see Billy Mata and his great band!

Scott

PS: Roger..thanks for the help during the gig!

Scott is totally right, I've filled in for Roger in this band and they are a gas and a half to play with. And watch and listen to.

Scott,

I agree, I got their CD at Dallas and it kicks butt. Beer Drinkin' Music and Magic Moments are fine. Roger is the backbone of the Billy Mata sound.

Roger is super, as is Rocco, Richard, Chaney and the rest of the band. Billy Mata is a very dynamic personality and a super talent. My "Swingin' West" listeners love their music and I am always hearing positive listener feedback from listeners world wide. There is always someone that comments to me that Billy's steel player really cooks. He sure does!

The rest of the band and I were happy to have you fill in. Fiddle is a very important sound for us and you handled it well. A big thanks from all of us.

Thanks also for the kind words from everone else.

Saw Roger at the Mesa AZ. Show and had the pleasure of visiting with him. Bought the Billy Mata CD "Tradionally Yours" and must say that it is fantastic. Such a good blend of Swing and Country Music. Folks Billy Mata is one of the finest vocalists to come along ever. His range and clarity are second to none and the musicians on the album are "Super Pickers" ALL. Roger thanks for turning me on to the album and I hope you guys have more in the works.

Thanks for the compliments! Glad you enjoyed our CD. We are currently in the studio trying to finish up our next cd called the Dominio Effect. We're hoping to have it released by July. I'm schedled to finish my parts next Thursday.

Roger, the "Domino Effect" wouldn't have something to do with a certain piano player would it???
