Jimmy Clark with David Frizzell
Last night we opened for David Frizzell,he had a young man by the name of Jimmy Clark playing fiddle with him awesome player. During sound check he was playing a lap steel and he was playing it to within an inch of it's life. It was said he plays pedal steel but due to back problems he didn't bring it with him. Does anyone have any info on this guy to share? He is one of the most remarkable young musician's I've heard in a long time.

Jimmy's a great player and a great guy as well. The only pedal steel I've ever seen him play was a S-6 with two pedals that Duanne Marrs build for him. He played a bunch of cool stuff on it.
I understand from an email I just got that he's moved on to a GFI S-10 with 3 and 1. I'm betting he pulls a ton of music out of it.
He can be heard pretty regularly on Lower Broad with a variety of bands.<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Chris Bauer on 14 May 2006 at 07:57 PM.]</p></FONT>

Jimmy has a GFI S-10 but I haven't got to hear him on it yet. We've worked a lot together for many years. We were working on an album a few years back and he brought in a kids accordian to use on a resitation type tune and it turned out great. It was a cowboy type tune so you get the idea. He also plays trumpet and four string guitar tuned like a fiddle. He gets the very most out of that guitar but fiddle is his main instrument. He also plays keys. Jimmy is forever trying to go as light as he can because of his back. He reads the forum too.

Jimmy's a great musician. Its good to hear that he picked up a GFI ten string, it won't take him long before he's tearing it up. Frank, I was listening to the Billy Wayne CD last week and it sure brought back some good memories. Jimmy's played with a bunch of big acts. Loretta Lynn comes to mind. I was at a friend of mines house awhile back and he put on a Hank Thompson CD ( I think it was recorded live at the Grand Ole Opry )and lo and behold, there's Jimmy Clark listed in the liner notes. He's also played with a bunch of the newer acts but I don't remember which ones. Its good to hear that Jimmy's playing out with David Frizzell, I hope they get up in my neck of the woods sometime soon. <font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Bob Watson on 14 May 2006 at 11:57 PM.]</p></FONT><font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Bob Watson on 15 May 2006 at 12:03 AM.]</p></FONT>
