According to album notes, the steel player on that particular song is the producer, Carl Jackson. Jackson was a noted 5 string banjoist in the 70's who moved on to studio work and production. |

The reason I asked is that I had to copy his parts on a session yesterday.. the double octave harmonics at the end of verse two were NOT easy.. Especially the high E - D gliss. They're all played at the 5th fret except the E-D which is chimed at the 15th and fretted at the 10th.
The unison 2nd and 4th strings on the second third and fourth notes of the bridge were kind of awkward as well.
This is a VERY rough mix with only part of the backing.

The track is far from finished and the voices are only "Guide Vox"

Malcolm, sorry the answer was so short, I did it from my 'phone whilst driving. (Can't get the hang of predictive text)
Back at home now.
Yes Ray and Philomena are the singers, but I stress the vocals are just GV (Guide Vox) put there to aide overdubs..
When It's mixed and come back from the lapidaries !!! I'll post the 'Polished' article ..
Kind regards from Pat and myself. |
