My son recently got a D-10 Fender/Sho-Bud (8/4) and he wants to know if there are any steel players in his area that he could contact, hang with, get pointers, etc. He's not a member here yet and recently moved, so doesn't have email up and running yet.
If you know of anyone, please let me know and I'll forward the information. Thanks.

We are not really in your area, but we'll kinda close, the Northwest Steel Guitar Association is having a super jam May 20 and 21 in Spokane Washington; featuring JD Maness, David Wright, Frank Carter, Big Jim Baron, Larry Behm, Larry Chester, Wayne Franco and the list goes on. For more details check out our website at www.nwsteelguitar.com
Thanks and hope you and your son can make it. Duane Becker |

Mike. Dont forget Mt Vernon. I played in a place called the Garden Of Eatin' many years ago. Probably not there now but there might be other places in the town. |

Hi Mike,
I live in Arlington. I'll be playing at the Marysville Strawberry Festival on June 17, 4:30-5:30 with http://www.joeslick.net/.
By the way, nice site for "Blue Moon Highway". I was happily surprised to see John Purcell there. We worked together in "High in the Saddle" many moons ago. Tell him I said howdy!

Mike, your son stopped by our store today and we seem to have made a nice connection. Next time we get together for a jam session I will give him a call and get him involved with our group of local steel players. With him we will be up to a group of 5!!
Sorry I didn't see this for so long a time, its been a busy year so far.
Phil
PS - Your son seems like a very fine young man, you can be proud.

John -- will you be playing all those dates, including Kent? I'm not far from there.

John -- Thanks...I'll pass this along to John. He's still a great bass player and a heck of a harmony singer...a pleasure to have in the band.
Thanks Phil...U Da Man!
