Who played the C6 solo on this song? There was a long thread about it a few years back in which some people thought it was John Hughey, while others said it was Paul Franklin. Let's put this one to rest. Who was it?
In any event I tabbed it out. It's in the tablature forum. Here's the link.

well i would say its paul jr. i can 't see the record label bringing in another steel player and paying the extra expense for a couple measures of c-6th when you got paul jr sitting there but hey i might be wrong ! you got to remember your dealing with record company's on music row they 've been known to do anything , like in 1973 when they sent George strait home and told him to lose the cowboy hat and boots then come back and they might have a spot for him!!! well its 51 number one hits later and he still has his boots and cowboy hat

I had an instructional cassette by Paul, where he taught both the E9 and C6 solos of that song. He never mentioned that he didn't play them on the recording, so I assumed he did.
In that old thread Gary Walker says the album notes credit John.  |

| The steel player on "Don't Even Know Her Name" is definitely Paul Franklin. Paul's played on alot of Alan's records except for "Remember When" and "Too Much of A Good Thing". now look whats happened,
not only do many of us woodshed to learn what Paul played..
now we are trying to actually learn the name of the song !
all I know so far is the Girl in the Video had a missing tooth..
