| he has good feedback. i just bought his push pull book and have no worries about getting it. no store owner in the history of music has given me better service than he did when his "emporium" was in operation. he's the biggest admirer of hal rugg ever and is just trying to promote his hero not cash in. |

| some of these recordings are of concerts that he was the producer and promoter of, in some way the same as the way scotty put out the buddy emmons '77 convention concert.i personally attended the '79 hal rugg concert in golden valley mn. and it was great.i might buy a copy just for the memories. I bought "Licks, Runs and Rolls" and it was Exactly what I was looking for. Clear and concise instruction by him telling what strings and what pulls to use for the licks also includes banjo rolls and what to play in 1-4-5 arrangement. I would recommend this to any novice to intermediate player.

I have had great dealings with this man in the past. He wrote the best book available on setting up a PP. Its the one with no author credit that Emmons sells now. He sent me some live cassettes for free of Hal a while back just because he wanted me to hear how truly great Hal was.
I have never seen better set up work done by anybody on a push pull. He rebuilt a S10 bolt on for a friend of mine.
The guy loved Hal and loves steel guitar. He has always been a pleasure to deal with.

A short time ago I had a listing in the Wanted section for a couple of Emmons L brackets. This gentleman sent them to me for free. 
I also bought the Emmons set-up book and find it very useful. |

| For what it is worth, even though I was a stranger that was referred to him, he did an incredible job cleaning and setting up my s-10 push/pull. It was clear by his craftsmanship and communication that he was a lover and promoter of steel guitar. Everything he said he would do, he did and more, at the price we agreed on. Definately a class act. |

I think his name is 'Clem' but aside from that I dont know anything about thim except he's a honest stand-up guy and Boy! can he play the steel..

Guys, You can trust this man. When he said "a good picker, but no one you'd know" he was telling the honest to goodness truth. It ain't Hal. I know because I listened to this c.d. that y'all are talking about just this morning while he was tweaking my old push pull. He is also the author of the book in question on push pulls. He's a good egg - You fellers in Nashville that are smiling while you read this KNOW who I'm talking about.  |

this fella is an excellent player, the product mentioned above is really way beyond the novice level, in my view...
Very PRO level..
Slide the bar instead of use a lever...
what a concept...
Sometimes programs like these, which are few and far between , are good to just listen to the conversation and think about what the player is saying..rather than just go forward and play licks...
I really like this format...
I remember years back I purchased a Robben Ford VHS study..I recorded it to cassette and drove around for about a year listening to the topics, especially the use of Diminished scales..I don't think I ever really watched the video..
But after a whole year of just listening it all came home front and center..it clicked...
I didn't have to watch the video, I knew what he was talking about and understood the scales and phrasing and the use of them...
No different here..
oh..and with PF's talk programs,,they are also top notch...
The program mentioned here certainly steps things up a bit with some positions and phrasings which in my view are very creative and very useful.

| Years ago when he had the Emporium in Nashville , I was there visiting with Hal and Weldon and a new young kid came in and was all fired up about playing steel guitar and I have pictures of us all that I cherish a lot. The kid went on to do himself quite well indeed !! Won't pass his name on but his initials are Terry Crisp. |
