I recorded my Gibson BR-9 and Carter pedal steel today on this beautiful tune. This was
was a big hit for Canadian artists Ian and
Sylvia in the 70's. Also recorded by Neil
Young who did an outstanding job.
As a passing note I put a new set of Jagwire
strings on my steel about 3 hours before doing this. I substitute a 022 to accomadate
the sixth string lower which you will hear at
one point during the solo. Just put that change on today. I am way behind the times.
I have the tab for this also. Contact me if you wish more info. My site below. http://freefilehosting.net/?id=pNvxkq/f

Lovely Roy. You captured the lonliness and poignancy of that song perfectly. I once heard Tyson say that he wrote the song when he was feeling lonely, and that he'd been trying to get that lonely ever since!

BTW, my brother just saw Ian Tyson in Toronto last night, and said he is in great voice, his guitar playing is better than ever, and he still does that song.

Thanks very much and "No" on the CD question.
I admire those who do take the time and make
the effort to get it done.
It's a lot of work.

I enjoyed your version of the song and thanks for posting it. As a new player I really appreciate hearing different players.
