I saw a Youtube.com clip on Jerry Douglas doing some fantastic sounds on a tele. Wonderful song and great bends. I was wondering if anyone can help me on pulling that up on yourtube.com. I can pull it up and this youtube can be challenging.. All help appreciated.

Thanks..

One of the old shows TNN had when they first started had Jerry Douglas (or at least that's what I remember from the credits) on a guitar, but playing with a bar and finger picks.

Jerry Douglas does in fact play a custom Tele with a square neck, and last year, I believe at Bonaroo, he was on stage jamming with the Allman Brothers Band playing this guitar, which is also used on his latest solo cd, "The Best Kept Secret" I think there is a photo of this on his website:

So you weren't far off...

Bill, here's the link. I stumbled across it in a Ricky Davis post in the Computers forum. It is indeed an amazing video!

Is the question about Jerry Donahue or Jerry Douglas...?

Donahue-

but there's more than one Jerry on a Tele, albeit a horse of a different color.

Quite a few years ago I saw JERRY DOUGLAS performing with THE WHITES. He was playing a TELE in his lap. His lead lines and fills were flawless and tasteful, as you would expect! I don't think any of the great pedal players could have done a better job. JMO!

Wow-I didn't realize JerryD was playing a lap Tele back then.

Was this when he was a regular band member, or a later gig where he might have been sitting in?

Even though I love pedal steel and am trying to learn the thing, Jerry is the best illustration on how there is PLENTY of music to be found on six strings-be it a dobro, weissenborn or a lap steel!

He doesn't have to take a back seat to anyone in the steel guitar world-or just about any other musical instrument world.
