Bobby D....Scuzzzzzze me, I had a momentary memory loss. How could I possily forget my favorite second cousin living in Alabama. We even went to different schools at the same time and almost went to State Penn..er uh...Penn State college together

This is just great news for me. I recall visting with Julian years ago at the Demons Den in Nashville. I make it well known my fondness for this great steel guitarist, his style, and his music. Thank You Alabama Steel Guitar Association, you guys are #1 |

Hi Reece,
Do you remember playing twin pedal steel guitars with Julian at the DJ Convention in 1969. In those days Julian had a crew-cut hair style. Too bad I didn't have a camera with me.

When I finished my set at the show in Montgomery Al. Jullians son came up to me and "said I like the way you play it is the old way of doing it" I took that as a compliment.

For me that is wonderful news. As i've said before i had the great pleasure of getting to work with Julian for a couple yrs. When I was with the Ray Price band from 70 thru 72. and a great big thanks to C.C. Johnson I will have Julian Tharpe music in my house until I'm gone. C.C. sent me tapes of Julians 2 albums and also picture.Thank you Thank you. CC. and congrats to Julian. I sure wish he was still with us. db |
