Well, after posting several times, Billy and I finally caught up with one another.

Let me tell you a little about Billy Poteet.
Although I haven't heard him play for over twenty years, The fact that he still owns a steel guitar (Emmons LeGrand) is proof enough to me that he can still play his butt off. I met Billy in Lubbock Tx. in 1973, when we both were new in a band with Jimmy Lee Blakley, and his sister Debbie. Billy always conducted himself in a business like manor, and could play anything that we decided to learn with EASE. He taught me a lot, and he was always fair and honest with those he dealt with.

Later, him and I went to another band in the area both at the same time, mostly because we had some good twin stuff worked out. It was with his recomendation that I even got a shot at the job. That is why I feel compelled to recommend him to you now. He tells me he wants to play, but is not known in the area where he now resides. He lives Near Austin, Texas, (Hutto) and I can't wait untill the day (night) we get to work a job together again. It will be a reunion. Oh, Yeah!.... I forgot to tell you that Billy Poteet can sing a 4/4 shuffle right up there with the best of 'em too! I can get him your phone number if you want to let me know.
Billy, thanks for your friendship, and your musical ability.

Bump for my old friends. Billy and Chuck are both great players and even better people. Good luck in Austin Billy.

Paul, I DO have some pictures of us, but I think that was when they still used Charcoal and drew on rock cliffs! I don't even know if they can be scanned.

Chuck, tell Billy to go just up the road to The Cotton Club in Granger, Tx on Sundays. Bubba Cox (owner) hosts an all day jam. It draws a lot of pickers from the area. Be a good place to show his stuff.

Thanks Jeremy! I sure would like to hear you again someday. You were becoming a MONSTER fifteen years ago when I last heard you. Your Dad emailed me a while back, and I'd sure like to work with him again someday too! Let me know if you get in the Fort Worth area. Billy Martin is here in the area too. (Maybe Lubbock is moving South...)

Chris, Thanks for the information. I'll let Billy know about the Jam. Thank you everyone!
