Two great new albums:

Norma Jean - Lonliest Star In Texas

Marti Brom - Heartache Numbers

Both have Dickie Overbey on steel, Bobby Flores on fiddle, Justin Trevino on bass/guitar and Levi Mullen on lead guitar.

Amber Digby is singing harmony onthe Norma Jean CD (Wanda Jackson is also vocal guest!)

Here is one source that has the CDs:

Great stuff!

Glad to see Norma Jean's album out now too, Marti's cd has actually been out for almost a year now, it was already nominated as the album of the 2005 on 3rd Coast Music mag's Freeform American Roots Chart: http://www.accd.edu/tcmn/far/far_best2005.htm
I'm happy to say, that I'll be playing steel & guitar for Marti in two weeks in England, at the Rockabilly Rave, so I guess I have to sign off now and go practice my Dickie Overby-licks!

Just as an addendum: The Marti Btom CD has a hidden track - a great version of "Heartaches By The Number", with Dickie Overbey on steel and Bobby Flores on fiddle!

Kind Regards, Walter

Walter,
Thanks for the info; I am always keen to buy anything with Dickey playing on it, he is one of the most expressive players I have ever heard.

Just for the record, Honky Tonk Memories has been holding residency in my clock radio for the last month. I listen to it every night when I turn out the lights.
