Newbie With An Artisan
First posting for me.I've had my Artisan for a few months and am enjoying the challenge.I mess around on guitar with our "cool" pastor and a bunch of friends, some skilled some learning.I hope to show some improvement by the end of our long winter in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It's nice to see other Michiganders on the Forum. My inspiration for lap steel comes from a band based out of Lansing, Mi. called Steppin In It. Their site is http://www.steppininit.com/ Thanks for all the useful information on the Forum.

Hey Lee, welcome to the forum! Thanks for the link-- that's a very cool versatile band. One of the brothers (Joe?) is really "slidin' in it" too: trombone, dobro, steel. Does a nice job on his Fender Dual Pro on Bob Will's "Nobody's Sweetheart", and singing lead to boot...
Stick around, you'll learn a lot. Just remember to spend at least as much time playing your steel as hanging out here! --Steve

Hi Lee,
Welcome from another Michigander (eventhough I am a "troll").
I used to play up in the UP a lot in the 1980's, in Marquette, Houghton, Munising and just across the border from Hurley, Wisconsin. It's beautiful up there.
